Online Consultation
Online consultations provide self-help tools allowing you to manage your own needs without visiting the practice. Simply fill in a questionnaire which your GP will receive and respond to within one working day.

What happens when you submit an online consultation
1. First review
- A member of our reception team reviews your request.
- They will direct it to the right team – either a doctor or our non-clinical/admin team.
- If another service is more suitable, they will advise you.
2. Administrative queries
- If your request is admin (e.g. fit notes, letters, test results), our reception or back-office team will process this.
- This can take a few days, depending on the request.
3. Medical queries
- A GP usually reviews your request the same day (or the next working day).
- They will decide if you need to be seen today or if your issue can be dealt with later.
4. Contacting you
- Please keep your phone available on the day you submit your consultation.
- We may call you to arrange an appointment.
- If you need urgent same-day care but we are full, we may offer you an appointment at one of our other sites, or direct you to NHS 111.
5. Non-urgent needs
- If your issue is non-urgent, we will usually contact you within 5 days to offer an appointment.
- The appointment may be later, but this helps us book you with the most appropriate clinician.
Many things can be self managed at home and dealt with without the need for a trip to the health centres, look through our self-care advice and services section for more information. For things which cannot be managed, you can use online consultation to make sure you see the right person, in the right place, at the right time.
